At the time of writing, another hugely successful Green Gym Day (thanks to all) has reminded us of our longer term hopes to find more ways of involving others. Ideas so far have been offering the land for Forest School education (we have had three enquiries about this possibility), as an opportunity for a differently therapeutic experience for people with mental health difficulties, and liaising with groups supporting refugees and asylum seekers. With more training and greater maturity Paul the Fell pony may provide opportunities for people to relate more closely with a working animal.
Some of our more creative friends have already drawn on the land for inspiration - Linda’s poetry, Penny’s song, Sally’s photographs, Andy’s sketches - and we welcome more of this.
With all of these we feel it is still early days for us.
We will probably not take up Henry Root's (aka our friend Nick's) suggestion to abandon all biodiversity endeavours and think about fracking instead.
