In 2013 we bought 17 and a half acres of land. We’re working to increase biodiversity and turn it into a nature reserve.

"How did this all begin?" you might ask. It happened this way. John was told by the owner of the land in question that a proposed sale had fallen through. “I’ll buy it!” joked John. He came home and told Clare, and she recognised that behind his throwaway remark, something important was happening. “Why don’t we?” she said.
